Summary:
This is the first documentary ever of civil rights legend Fannie Lou Hamer! During the 1960s, thousands of people were inspired by her in their fight for human rights. At 44 years, this brave daughter of sharecroppers, faced death threats daily for standing up against a racist system for poor black Americans who were being denied basic human rights. In a moving interview, Congressman John Lewis, who worked with Ms. Hamer in the movement, offers a valuable perspective of Ms. Hamer's character and her accomplishments. There are more moving interviews with people about Ms. Hamer's power, courage and unselfishness that changed America.
